2017 has more than followed last year which was very much the year of change. We seem to have lost those certainties on which much is built. World leaders, banks and even voting human beings just aren’t doing what they are supposed to.

From our perspective at TAP we have seen business increasing and more organisations are approaching us. Maybe we are just typical of a UK SME which is where you seem to be finding most of the confidence in the UK at the moment. This is just as well as SME’s make up over 50% of the UKs GDP and employ over 80% of the workforce (I think…). And arguably SME’s don’t have sophisticated tax “streamlining” schemes - so is very much the Engineroom of the UK. Another likely factor regarding our growth is specialising. Specialising in growth communication areas and product sectors. Niche, specialism, (call it what you will) it is the new way to not just survive, but grow.

2016 Service Dealer Conference & Awards

The Service Dealer Conference took place at a packed Oxford Belfry Hotel on the 17th November 2016, with dealers representing businesses large and small from across the country coming together to share ideas on customer satisfaction. The keynote speech was given by John Timpson.

In a glittering awards ceremony the prestigious Service Dealer Awards were presented to the best and brightest in the industry. The stars of the night being, the Dealer Of The Year winners Hertfordshire Garden Machinery Ltd and Cyril Johnston & Co Ltd.

Fine Furniture, Fine Branding

TAP were called upon to create a fresh brand identity and marketing materials for fine furniture makers Ochre & Wood. The brand identity had to reflect the company’s contemporary designs and high level of craftsmanship.

Socially celebrating the spud

As part of our ongoing Social Media strategy for Adama, TAP has produced a series of 12 animated gifs to share through all Social Media. The humble potato is becoming increasingly popular around the world and demonstrates some impressive health and environmental statistics which are being shared by Adama.

Rebrand Rollout

June saw the launch of the rebranded Gladstone. TAP created an all new marque for the leisure managment software company as well as a logo for their product Gladstone360. Module logos, websites, corporate literature, and show stands were created too.

Mother Earth

We were delighted to be helping spread the message about Mother Earth Day by creating a short animation for ADAMA. The animation has been produced to share globally through all of ADAMA’s regions.

TAP has just sponsored the Agricultural Engineers Association’s annual conference held at One Great George Street. The speaker line up was impressive and presented much to think about regarding the future challenges facing agriculture and machinery as well as a very amusing finale by Michael Portillo. It was good to be supporting an industry so closely linked to TAP.

TAP help spread the word on water

For #WorldWaterDay TAP has helped spread the word to the agricultural community & beyond on behalf of ADAMA. These animated gifs were posted through social media and business networking channels to help raise awareness regarding water issues worldwide, especially in the Agriculture sector.

Dekalb EMEA Appoint TAP

After a competitive tender process TAP has been chosen to work on content creation and developing the DEKALB Social Media Strategy across Europe. This adds to the work that we currently do with DEKALB UK in media planning/buying and social media. Once the strategy is in place TAP will roll out & develop social media for Ukraine & Romania, as well as content for those regions, Hungary and France. Further exciting developments are planned for the future.

Service Dealer Conference & Awards Organised by The Ad Plain

Attended by over 150 delegates comprising dealers, manufacturers and key industry figures, the day conference featured a Keynote Address by farmer and BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson.

There then followed a series of lively and exhilarating debates tackling the thorny issues which the independent dealer trade currently face. The day was rounded off with a magnificent dinner featuring the prestigious Service Dealer Awards ceremony - which honoured outstanding dealers across the garden, turfcare, farm, forestry and ATV sectors.

Chris commentated “After almost 28 years at the helm, it was time to secure the future of the magazines – and having worked with the TAP team for the past 18 months to produce the titles, I know the magazines could not be in better hands”.

Chris will be staying on to edit the magazines and the weekly newsletter until the end of this year, and will be Consultant Editor to the titles during 2016.

New Software Client

Gladstone Health and Leisure, the leading supplier of Leisure Management Systems to the UK Leisure Industry has appointed TAP to look at a strategic rebrand and new website. TAP won the business after a 4 way pitch in March and will be starting work immediately on the rebrand projects.

Julie Gill has joined The Ad Plain as a Board Director with immediate effect and is committed to the future development of the business.

Julie has had a very strong career in Media Publishing and Research including Head Of Group Sales and Marketing at Reed, Head Of Global Media Europe at VNU, Managing Director at IDG Communications New Zealand, General Manager Fairfax Media NZ and has just resigned as Vice President IDC (EMEA) to join us. Julie also has managed to start her own publishing company which she successfully sold whilst in New Zealand. TAP Snaps at ISPY

Everyone went home with a smile from ISPY 2014, with TAP once again organising the 'M&M's PhotoBooth' for industry leaders and glamorous global cabin crews. The photobooth, which super-imposes participants onto a Brighton Pier or a snowy Britain backdrop, served up a tonne of fun for esteemed guests at Brighton's Hilton Hotel and provided take away-prints on the night.

TAP continued its successful four-year relationship with the Oxford Farming Conference by designing and producing the literature, with this year's Report - 'Opportunity Agriculture' - focusing on creating a sustainable industry over the next decade.

The flagship agricultural event, with Princess Anne in attendance and speakers including The Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP, ensured high-profile exposure for TAP's work.

Service Dealer Relaunch

The first issue of TAP's new contract-published magazine, Service Dealer, has been released to strong positive feedback.

While the magazine has been running for over 25 years, securing its status as the leading publication in its sector, TAP have provided a full redesign as well as taking over publishing responsibility.

New Agriculture Client

As the year draws to a close, TAP has added to its client list - welcoming Interagro, Europe's leading specialist adjuvant company. TAP will be handling a number of Interagro's marketing projects in 2014. This addition is a further boost to TAP's credentials as one of the leading agencies in the UK agriculture sector.

Monsanto & TAP Launch Unique Community Website

Our partnership with agricultural leader Monsanto, now in its fifth year, has hit another milestone with the launch of a TAP built website. The OSR Growers Club website is a community forum for Dekalb, Monsanto's oilseed rape brand. TAP is responsible for website management, social media and advertising for this exciting new project.

Digital Magazine Success

TAP- published digital magazine, BALPA�s The Log Update, has delivered some encouraging results in a recent ComRes survey. The monthly magazine, which supplements BALPA�s main quarterly print publication, was read at least some of the time by 95 per cent of those surveyed, which included almost 50 per cent reading it most of the time.

New Publishing Partnership Begins

TAP MD Duncan Murray-Clarke shook hands with Service Dealer magazine owner Chris Biddle to mark the start of our exciting new publishing agreement. TAP will take on the publishing responsibility for the magazine, which will include a redesign, a new website and the weekly e-mail newsletter. Service Dealer celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.

We aim to ensure that it continues its widely-recognised role as the voice of the garden machinery, professional turfcare, farm machinery and outdoor power equipment industry.

Britain's Got Talent Star Turns to TAP

TAP support The Oxford Farming Conference

Asta Development's PowerProject AdTAP was asked to produce all the collateral for the OFC (3-6 Jan 2012) which included the Power in Agriculture report which has been key to the conference and highlights the agricultural shifts taking place on a global scale. The report has been picked up by the national press and television as a basis for reporting on the future of farming.

Web Design Publishing Advertising Oxfordshire�advert designComvort is the world's largest network of privately owned advertising agencies. All member agencies were asked to take part in a competition to rebrand Comvort.

All 120 agencies from all continents were then asked to vote on a winning corporate identity design. TAP's design was voted by global members as the new logo for the organization. Considering the competition and that the judging panel consisted of some of the more creative minds around the world, we are delighted to be voted best agency design. So, the best logo in the world, ever (probably).

BASF creative campaigns

Web Design Publishing Advertising Oxfordshire�advert designTAP has continued to work extensively with BASFs Crop Protection Division over recent months, both with the herbicide and fungicide product teams. Both teams have a progressive approach to their marketing and required innovative creative solutions.

Our brief for the Crystal brand was to produce a hard-hitting campaign which would stand out from much of the formulaic and predictable creative within the Agricultural sector. We adapted the horror movie theme to produce an original and flexible creative solution for print, digital and events.

In addition we successfully pitched for the creative work on Xemium arguably the most significant fungicide launch for many years. We produced a bold, modern creative concept with the scope to evolve. The TAP team produced creative for display advertisements, digital advertising, brochures, e-shots, invitations & event collateral, posters, flags, aircraft headrests and we also built a bespoke microsite.

Both integrated campaigns have been extremely well received by BASFs target audiences and the industry as a whole.

Against breast cancer

Breast Cancer has several well known patrons including Simon Cowell, Ben Shephard, Dwina Gibb, Suzanne Dando and Honorary President Julie Cowell. Celebrity supporters include Dragons Den star Duncan Bannatyne.

TAP complete CRYPTOCARD overhaul

They are world leaders in software, phone and token-less authentication and invented cloud based authentication.

As part of the project TAP created a new corporate identity including a series of logos, new website, sales brochures and their exhibition stand for infosec.

Web Design Publishing Advertising Oxfordshire�advert design BASF Agrichemicals - the largest chemical company in the world - has chosen TAP to advertise the launch of its iPhone App the Canopy Assessment Tool.

The unique tool is the first of its kind to offer farmers the ability to assess the potential yield risks of their wheat crops using their iPhone. It allows users to plan and manage their produce even more effectively. The campaign used traditional print media as well as online sites.

Subsequently, BASF has also asked TAP to produce a similar campaign for its new cereal herbicide called Auxiliary. As well as designing the Auxiliary brand logo, TAP will be producing ads for print, as well as a series of attention-grabbing, Flash based web ads.

A Powerful Project

Asta Development's PowerProject AdTap has just produced a new campaign for Asta Development's Powerproject (construction project management software). Asta are leaders in project management software solutions and are behind some the the world's most demanding projects like the London Eye, Durban City Airport and Europe's (soon to be) tallest building, the London Shard. The campaign broke online and in the main building press last week which was also booked up by TAP. Adrian Vann, the new Marketing Manager at Asta commented that the ads had been really well received around the organisation.

Travalo's New Look

Web Design Publishing Advertising Oxfordshire�advert design Travalo’s rapid success meant that sales support imagery quickly became in need of an update. TAP has just completed a strategic overhaul of Travalo advertising and imagery. Photographer Ed Salter was commissioned for the 4 shoots which reflect the product benefits and core brand values. The ads and imagery will support the successful Travel Retail sector as well as PR activity being led by TAP in UK, France, Netherlands and Germany for the high street market.

Web Design Publishing Advertising Oxfordshire�mmsphotobooth It was all smiles for the camera as TAP organised the 'M&M's PhotoBooth' at ISPY 2010. From glamourous cabin crew to suited industry leaders, everyone queued to get snapped next to 'Red' and 'Yellow' on the Moon, the Titanic, at Buckingham Palace, on the beach and as a secret agent!

TAP delivered the photobooth concept, which super-imposed participants on a chosen backdrop instantly and gave take away prints of their photos on the night. We set up the blue screen studio at Beaumont Estate Hotel and the event was a great success and a lot of fun. We photographed hundreds of travel industry superstars in over 200 individual snaps.

Web Design Publishing Advertising Oxfordshire�breo workshop Ispy, the global airline event asked Duncan Murray-Clarke to take their second workshop. The workshop consisted of concessionaire and airline management from over 40 airlines worldwide and was based around the product journey and in particular cabin crew communication. Duncan was joined on stage by Joe Harvey from Aer Lingus who ran through some of the successful initiatives he had worked on with TAP.

Following the presentation the audience was briefed on the breo watch and asked to come up with initiatives of how to communicate the benefits and support their cabin crew in the sales process.

ISPY 2009 Penalty Shoot Out

Web Design Publishing Advertising Oxfordshire�ispy09 TAP organized yet another highly contested penalty shoot out for Mars at this year's ISPY week. The competition has become something of a folk tradition at the annual industry event. With giant-sized M&M's® keeping goal, the football competition was bravely contested between over 70 participants, with the aim to score as many goals from three attempts in as quick a time as possible.

The winner was Joe Harvey, Cabin Crew Manager, Sales & Service for Aer Lingus. Joe from Dublin scored three clean strikes in an impressive 2.54 seconds. It seems Robbie Keane can keep his day job however, since Joe was later heard commenting “The keeper was rubbish!”. Joe wins 2 tickets to hit musical Mamma Mia and overnight accommodation at a 4 star London hotel.

Proving that the girls have as much footballing prowess as the boys, second place went to Alicia Long, Cabin Crew Executive for Singapore Airlines, who scored 3 goals in 6.32secs Martyn Westbury, International travel retail manager for Mars, was impressed by the high standard of play at this year's event and had to donate £20 towards charity in recognition of his own less than impressive goal attempts.

On 17 January 2009, Mexicana launches a new route from London Gatwick direct to Mexico City.

TAP has supported the launch in conjunction with the Mexican Tourist Board by creating and planning a large format advertising campaign around London with extensive national press support. Mexicana is the 4th largest airline in the world.

BALPA appoint TAP

British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) identified that they needed to look at the design and sales strategy of their member title “The Log”, which is distributed to over 14,000 pilots worldwide.  After a two stage pitch, TAP was appointed to handle the whole process from re-design, production & print to distribution.  Ad sales for the title and related products will be handled by TAP's in-house sales team.
